Every 80 minutes a veteran takes his or her own life.
In June 2012 the Pentagon reported that one active-duty service member completes suicide every day.
The
Military Helpline is answering the call to serve those who have served us with a free, compassionate, and completely anonymous lifeline to military, veterans and their families. Staffed with vets, more than 500 military-related calls are received every month from across the nation and overseas, de-escalating 98% of all suicide related calls.

It costs $25 every time we answer a vet's call.
$25 is movie tickets, mini golf, or casual dinner.

$25 saves one life.
Please consider investing $25 a month towards the life-saving programs at Lines for Life like the Military Helpline, or make a meaningful, one-time contribution.

The Military Helping is an outreach program of Lines for Life, a regional non-profit preventing substance abuse and suicide. Our six 24 hour crisis lines receive nearly 40,000 calls annually – half are suicide related.

Our men and women in uniform are our first line of defense and our first line of peace. Help us to help those who have served us so well. Click here to invest today.

It continues to be a tremendous honor and thrill to be a part of this amazing organization, Lines for Life – reaching beyond our community to meet the needs of children and families, military and vets. This morning a call was received on our crisis lines from an active service member in such pain that he held a bottle of pills in his hand, ready to end his life as he reached out for help. Because of the compassionate and incredible Crisis Intervention Specialist (also a vet) who took his call, this soldier is safe today. Without programs like the Military Helpline the end to this story would be tragically different.

Consider $100 a month: this equates to a latte a day, dinner out, or a month of housecleaning. As we run around in our busy, daily lives, we rarely get the chance to save a life – but that is what I am asking you to do right now. Join this life-saving work that means so much to me – click here to invest just $100 a month, or contribution that is meaningful to you, and support those who need it most.
